Day 1: Arrival in Bhopal & Local Sightseeing

Afternoon:

Local Sightseeing:

  • Taj-ul-Masjid: One of the largest mosques in India, known for its grand architecture and peaceful ambiance.
  • Bharat Bhavan: An art and cultural center showcasing the rich heritage and arts of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Upper Lake (Bada Talab): A large, picturesque lake in the city, ideal for a relaxing boat ride.
  • Van Vihar National Park: A sanctuary in the heart of Bhopal, offering a close view of wildlife like deer, tigers, and leopards.

Evening:

  • Lake View: Visit the Lower Lake (Chhota Talab) for a stunning sunset view.
  • Dinner: Enjoy local cuisine, such as poha and jalebi, at a nearby restaurant.

Day 2: Bhopal to Sanchi


Morning:

  • Drive to Sanchi (45 km from Bhopal, approx. 1-1.5 hours): After breakfast, depart for Sanchi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its Buddhist stupas and monuments.

Afternoon:

  • Sanchi Stupa 1: The most iconic stupa in Sanchi, dating back to the 3rd century BCE, built by Emperor Ashoka.

Day 3: Bhopal to Pachmarhi via Bhimbetka

  • Departure from Bhopal to Pachmarhi (about 200 km, 5-6 hours drive). En route, visit Bhimbetka Caves (45 km from Bhopal), a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for prehistoric rock paintings.

Afternoon:

  • Explore Bhimbetka Caves:
  • Rock Paintings: View the ancient rock paintings, some of which are believed to be around 30,000 years old.
  • Cave Tours: Explore different caves, some of which were used by early humans as shelters.
  • Drive to Pachmarhi: After visiting Bhimbetka, continue your journey towards Pachmarhi.

Evening:

  • Arrive at Pachmarhi and check into your hotel.

Day 4: Pachmarhi Sightseeing

  • Pachmarhi Sightseeing: Begin your day by exploring the serene natural beauty and historical sites of Pachmarhi, also known as the "Queen of Satpura."
  • Pandav Caves: Ancient rock-cut caves believed to have been used by the Pandavas during their exile.
  • Jatashankar Caves: Famous for a natural Shivlinga and its religious significance.
  • Bee Falls: A stunning waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.
  • Priyadarshini Point: A viewpoint offering a panoramic view of the surrounding hills and valleys.

  • Further Sightseeing:
  • Chauragarh Temple: Situated atop a hill, it is an important pilgrimage site.

Day 5: Pachmarhi to Bhopal / Pipariya / Itarsi

  • Departure from Pachmarhi: Begin your journey back to Bhopal or towards Pipariya or Itarsi (depending on your departure point).
  • Return to Bhopal (approximately 200 km, 5-6 hours drive).
  • Alternatively, if your departure is from Pipariya (50 km from Pachmarhi) or Itarsi (80 km), plan accordingly for a shorter journey.

Afternoon:

  • En route Lunch: Stop for lunch at a highway restaurant or at your chosen destination.
  • Arrival: Arrive at your destination (Bhopal, Pipariya, or Itarsi) in time for your onward journey.
